Biography

Marlize is a Senior Financial Adviser with more than 30 years’ experience in the Insurance Industry.

She joined Momentum in July 1994 as a junior underwriter & through her hard work, commitment & technical expertise, she quickly moved through the ranks becoming a Senior Underwriter.

During the same period, Marlize was awarded a Momentum bursary & completed her Diploma in Underwriting.

Marlize’s later responsibilities included underwriting audits & the training of Momentum’s underwriters, claim assessors & marketing advisers.

As a result of Marlize’s sound knowledge & excellent communication abilities, she was asked to present a course at the University of Pretoria & lectured students at the Momentum college.

Marlize was then asked to join the individual life risk marketing team. As part of this team, Marlize’s contribution to developing & marketing Momentum’s individual life Critical Illness & Disability benefits was invaluable. Marlize was an integral part of the team that made the product Myriad a huge success.

She not only worked tirelessly on the medical benefit definitions, but also spent a great deal of time with financial advisers, explaining the very technical products.

Marlize’s exceptional efforts have been rewarded on a number of occasions, culminating in Marlize being selected twice to attend the annual Momentum “WOW” trip. The purpose of “WOW” is to recognise exceptional performers in Momentum.

In 2012 Marlize joined Momentum’s Financial Planning department as a Financial Adviser and completed her National Certificate in Financial Planning, followed by a Bachelor’s of Commerce (BCom) degree.

In the past few years, she received several Momentum Aquilo Awards for outstanding performance.

Marlize is qualified to do Estate- & Retirement Planning & is accredited to provide advice on Momentum’s entire product range, including, Long term Insurance, Short term Insurance, Investments, Pension fund benefits, Health & Wills
